Mode SixtyFive Fn Layer - Function Keys
F1 - F12: Fn + 1-0, -, = — Access standard function keys F1 through F12 by pressing Fn with the corresponding number row key. Fn+1=F1, Fn+2=F2, etc.
Mode SixtyFive Fn Layer - Media
Mute: Fn + Del — Mute/unmute system audio. Mapped to the Delete key position on the Fn layer.
Volume Up: Fn + PgUp — Increase system volume. Mapped to the Page Up key position on the Fn layer.
Volume Down: Fn + PgDn — Decrease system volume. Mapped to the Page Down key position on the Fn layer.
Play / Pause: Fn + End — Toggle play/pause in the active media player. Mapped to the End key position on the Fn layer.
Mode SixtyFive Firmware & Configuration
Enter Bootloader Mode: Fn + Esc (or physical reset button) — Enter QMK bootloader mode for flashing new firmware. Can also press the physical reset button on the PCB. The keyboard disconnects and appears as a DFU device.
VIA Live Remapping: Connect USB → open VIA — Connect via USB and open VIA (usevia.app) to remap keys, program macros, and configure layers in real-time. Changes are stored in onboard EEPROM and persist across reconnects. Supports up to 4 programmable layers.
QMK Custom Firmware: Compile → flash via QMK Toolbox — Build fully custom firmware using QMK. Supports advanced features like tap-dance, combos, leader key, and custom RGB effects beyond what VIA offers. Flash via QMK Toolbox after entering bootloader mode.
Mode SixtyFive macOS Setup
Swap Command and Option (macOS): System Preferences → Keyboard → Modifier Keys — For Mac users: swap Command and Option key positions in macOS System Preferences to match the Mac modifier layout. This is a one-time OS-level configuration, not a keyboard setting.
